Like we need another excuse to get excited about summer! You want to enjoy every possible minute outside, so why not perk up your patio. Whether you’re working with 50 square feet or 500 square feet you can refresh your patio space with these versatile accessories.

We asked Ashley from @Bottlesnblondes for the 411 on patio and outdoor fun and here is what we learned:

The key is to start with organizing your priorities. Are you a BBQ master or the hostess with the most-est in need of a space to gather friends and family? (We see you @PegCityFoodie and your snack boards). Or are you more private looking for a peaceful green oasis to relax in? Deciding what you want from your space will help determine the decor options available to you.

For small spaces like an apartment balcony, maximize your space with compact or foldable options. Add a tabletop BBQ and a pair of decorative chairs for sipping coffee and catching rays. Umbrellas and awnings aren't always an option in small spots so don't forget cute shades and a good SPF to protect yourself from the sun. Add a touch of greenery with a vertical planter or railing brackets to help build your own oasis.

If you have a little more space like Ashley’s deck, a cozy outdoor sectional or dining table is always a great place to start. Make your table more inviting with matching outdoor cutlery, and place settings. Add accent chairs, stools and side tables in a similar colour scheme or texture to add more seating and a welcoming atmosphere. If you don't have the time to flex your green thumb add some low-maintenance planters or even faux plants.

Of course, regardless of size don't forget some candles, lanterns and string lights to help carry your space from day to nighttime. Activities like corn hole, puzzles and more can also help make your outdoor time more enjoyable for the whole family.
