From Canada’s breathtaking beauty to our multicultural heritage, there are so many reasons to love this country. As you probably already know, it’s Canada’s 150th this year, and we couldn’t be more excited to get out our red-and-white swag and take part in the festivities. Lonely Planet has even recognized Canada as the top travel destination of the year – how exciting is that?! Here’s what we’re doing this summer to celebrate Canada and show our pride by giving back to those who have served our country, AND giving you a chance to explore our home and native land with our contest.

Canada’s biggest birthday bash is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness for a national charity, and the True Patriot Love Foundation is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. They support military families, fund community-based programs, and contribute to the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research. Since 2009, they have provided more than $18 million to support military families, including supporting more than 100 amazing community-based programs that address needs such as mental health, physical rehabilitation, transitioning to civilian life, and the special needs of children.

How are we going to help? We’re donating $1 to the True Patriot Love Foundation for every St. Vital Centre Giftcard purchase of $50 or more! With Father’s Day and grad season quickly approaching, a Giftcard is a perfect way to show how much you care. Your loved one can choose exactly what they want, and they’ll be happy knowing their gift contributed to a great cause. And while you’re at Customer Service, you can add to the good vibes by picking up a card for yourself – because every little bit helps. Our goal is to raise $4,000 for the True Patriot Love foundation by June 30!
