Hang on to Your Hats! See Our Fave Summer Styles

fashion

Now that the snow (cringe) is gone and the warm sun is here, it’s time to focus on other things, and those other things are hats. Maybe it’s the upcoming Royal Wedding that has us especially keen on hats this year; after all, the parade of fascinators and headpieces is at least half the fun of tuning in. This week’s Met Gala red carpet featured a huge number of on-theme halos, crowns, and ornate headwear set atop our favourite fashion-minded stars as well. While we probably won’t be wearing anything like Rihanna’s papal-inspired hat out for drinks this summer, that doesn’t mean we can’t take fashion cues from fashion royalty, and actual royalty, by covering our heads with something fun, now does it? To get you started, we’ve picked out some of our favourite hats from around the Centre to wear out and about this spring.

Straw hats to conductor’s caps
There’s nothing more summery than a straw hat, and they never go out of style. Use it to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your face during a long day at the beach (or to sneak a peek from under a large brim… we’re not telling). We like styles with fun or colourful bands to add some interest and personality, and there are lots of different shapes and sizes within this style for you to choose from.

If you’re looking for something a little different, look no further than the conductor’s cap – we fell hard for this little number. It’s more unexpected and goes with more looks than a baseball cap, but has the same easy-to-wear, casual appeal. The only downside to this style is picking a favourite from the available colours.

Wondering what else is trending this spring? Purple, for one – check out a collection of our favourite fashion and accessories in Pantone’s Color of the Year here. And while you’re getting warm-weather ready, check out our favourite spring shoes and jackets.
