Summer is by far our favourite season for footwear, and this year’s crop of sandals does not disappoint. We’ve narrowed down our favourite new and classic styles that will bring some wow to your shoe collection. Some of our picks are on the bold side, while others might remind you of sandals you wore as a teenager. From gladiators to pool slides, here are five styles that will walk you through every summer occasion.

1) Strappy blue heels

We can’t decide what we like most about this sexy, strappy sandal. Is it the chambray texture? Or the perfect heel height, in this season’s must-have blocky shape? With a shoe this special, you’ll want them to shine – pair them with a white or cream-coloured dress to make the blue pop.

2) Beige mules

We know, mules aren’t as comfy as your trusty flip flops... but they sure look good. The neutral colour and structured heel will make your legs look a mile long – let’s see your flip flops do that – and they’re perfect for your next patio gathering or a friend’s baby shower.

3) Jewelled gladiators

A sandal that’s elegant, eye-catching, and flattering? Yes, please! Gladiator sandals aren’t exactly a new style, but this pair has a little extra personality that we can’t get enough of. The multi-coloured jewels mean you can wear these with literally anything, but we guarantee all eyes will be on your shoes.

4) Two-toned slides

Checking out art galleries in The Exchange requires a fair bit of walking, but you can still look dressed up without sacrificing comfort. These Karl Lagerfeld slides are comfortable and chic, with turquoise and navy colour blocking that would go perfectly with a black skirt and a floral tee.

5) Michael Kors slides

We’re big fans of the pool slide trend, since they're basically like slippers you can wear out of the house. Not only are they comfortable, they’re ultra trendy right now. We’ll be rocking these at The King’s Head this summer with a band tee, our Levi’s jean shorts, and luxe jewellery. Watch out, Rihanna.

6) Studded sandals

Add a bit of edge to your look with a pair of studded sandals. These have the same shape as your go-to Birkenstocks, but are more interesting in black and silver. We love wearing these with loose gauchos, but they would look equally amazing with cuffed jeans and a leather jacket for a night out.
