One-piece is the New Bikini: The Return of the Classic Swimsuit

fashion

Summer means breaking out your most important suit – the swimsuit! Whether you’re lounging by the pool, running the kids through the splash pad, or hanging out at the beach, you need a suit that makes you feel amazing. If rocking the bikini is your jam – more power to you. But it’s a huge sigh of relief for many to finally have cute, modern, and even sexy options if you prefer to be a touch more covered up. No matter what your skin-baring comfort level, the one-piece swimsuit is back on trend with more options than ever. Here’s a peek at three amazing suits that caught our eye this season in the Centre. See you in the water!

The modern and graphic tank: The tank is arguably the most basic (ahem, boring) of swimsuit shapes. But in a youthful and modern graphic print, it becomes the furthest thing from snooze-worthy, and will actually amp up your swimwear game. The white background is unexpected, while the print is actually a dreamy collage of colourful road trip photos…it’s like wearing your favourite Pinterest board! Play with your accessories inspiration by adding white platforms and ‘60s round sunnies.

The simple and flirty cross-back: If you gravitate towards a sweeter style, this creamy one-piece says feminine without being saccharine. A pretty, crisscross crochet back detail keeps it from being too simple (and keeps you contained!). The pale shade and crocheted texture have a boho feel, and pair well with kimonos, caftans, and other flowy cover-ups. This suit will definitely be taking us from pool to patio.

The bold and sexy halter/bandeau: Can we all just agree that a one-piece doesn’t have to be frumpy? A ruched, halter-neck tank like this one just oozes retro glamour. The black side panels are especially forgiving, the tribal print is right on trend, and that back….oh, that #sexyback….you’ll feel like a goddess running after toddlers in this suit. And for those moments to yourself in the sun? The halter straps come off for a drop-dead bombshell strapless option that would make Marilyn proud.

Are you team one-piece or team bikini? We’d love to see your signature swimsuit for summer, if you dare! Tag us on Instagram with @StVitalCentre to join the pool party.
