Trend Highlight: Fanny Packs are Back!

fashion

That’s right: your mom’s favourite way to keep cash, sunglasses, and tasty snacks conveniently stowed during family vacations is now chic. To be fair, these are not exact replicas of the ‘90s fanny pack, which normally featured garish neons in tacky fabrics, bulky shapes, and giant plastic buckles. The versions that Kendall Jenner and crew are running around LA wearing are a good deal more polished – ie. something you’d be caught dead wearing over the age of 9 – and with festival season officially in full swing, fanny packs are not only having a moment but are actually super practical.

Picture yourself at Folk Fest, dancing the night away while The Strumbellas light up Birds Hill Park, and never once worrying about where your bag is at. Imagine navigating the Brazilian Pavilion this Folklorama with a loaded plate of delicious food, and no bulky purse jeopardizing the safety of your meal or colliding with the crowds around you. Sounds pretty great, right?

We’re convinced and ready to get our hands on this hands-free trend, so we grabbed a few of our favourite options from around the Centre to show you what’s out there. While you’re prepping for your summer schedule, check out three simple ways to get your hair off your face, and our favourite summer hats. Happy festival-ing!
