Layering is nothing new, especially as temps dip and we’re all looking to keep warm. But this season, instead of piling on warm sweaters, blazers, and button-ups, we're doing things a little bit differently by focusing on layering strappy summer pieces over our fall staples. Keeping your warm weather wear at centre-stage is a fun way to showcase your dresses and tanks year-round – and it’s giving us major Clueless vibes, which is always a plus! Here are three winter-appropriate ways to layer your summer favs.

Halter dress + turtleneck
Don't put your favourite summer dress into storage just yet. A red halter dress over a white turtleneck is a sophisticated combo that really comes to life with shiny boots and a structured handbag. The halter neckline juxtaposed against the turtleneck makes the look feel intentional and balanced, and draws the eye upwards to your face. Dark pantyhose will you keep you warm as you rock up to your next dinner party.

While it may not be your first instinct, layering a tank over your basic tee is a sure way to create a cool,‘90s-feeling outfit.
