Our Team Shares 6 Go-To Moisturizers To Save Your Skin This Winter

beauty

We’re Winnipeggers, and that means we are as built-for-winter as our trusty snow tires. That being said, we don’t really love the idea of our skin feeling like snow tires. So while the weather is not going to stop us from getting out and having fun this winter, we will be living that constantly-applying-moisturizer life until summer humidity rolls back in. In case you’re actively on the hunt for a new go-to lotion, or are just interested in knowing what’s out there, we asked some of our team to share their personal favourites. Here are 6 trusty facial moisturizers and body lotions we’ll be using all winter.

Sleepy Body Lotion

$19.95 (7.4 oz/210 g) at Lush

“My skin is pretty dry year-round, and I find this lotion does the trick but soaks in quickly and doesn’t feel greasy. I’m not huge on scents normally, but this lovely lavender smell fades mostly away pretty quickly. Plus, no animal testing to worry about and the tub can be returned to Lush to be turned into more tubs!” - Kara

CeraVe Moisturizing Body Lotion

$15.48 (355 mL) at Walmart

“I live by CeraVe moisturizer. It’s available at Walmart, and really inexpensive for a huge pump bottle!” - Raez

Vaseline Intensive Care Essential Healing Lotion

$16.76 (10 oz) at Walmart

“I've used this moisturizer daily for years. I would classify my skin as normal, and I find that this keeps it hydrated all day. Plus you can find it at Walmart or any drug store for a reasonable price. ” - Haley

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream Rescue + Recover

$79 (1.69 oz/50 mL) at Sephora

“Drunk Elephant is cool because they are really conscious of PH levels, and they only include ingredients that benefit your skin. Their products are also great to even out your skin tone. This moisturizer is nice and thick, so I mostly use it at night, and really notice a difference when I wake up. It’s been a lifesaver these past couple days because I’ve been outside with my puppy, Scout, so much!” - Lauren

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30

$13.97 (89 mL) at Walmart

“I use CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizer for the day, and either the PM Moisturizing Lotion or the cream for the night, depending on how dry my skin feels. I am sensitive to a lot of ingredients in lotions and this one is perfect for that reason. Plus, I have “mature” skin so the added benefits of protection and plumping ability are great. They are also unscented, and I don’t get a greasy feeling.” - Dolores

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15

$13.99 (120 mL) at London Drugs

“My dry skin isn’t seasonal – I have it year-round. I also look for products that are fragrance-free. I’ve been using Cetaphil for years, both the moisturizing lotion and the facial cream (which comes in SPF 15 and SPF 50), and both are moisturizing but light-weight and don’t feel greasy.”
