The Ultimate Airport #OOTD

fashion

Going on vacation anytime soon? First of all – we’re so jealous. Secondly, have you thought about your airport outfit yet?! Travel style is all about finding the perfect balance between chic and comfortable, which takes a bit of effort (and pre-planning!) to nail. In anticipation of your next getaway, we've put together the ultimate airport outfit that will get you to your destination in style, and keep you comfortable along the way.

The elements: Sweater + blanket scarf + trench coat + runners + tote bag

Light sweater: Why are planes always so freezing? We’ve all made the mistake of wearing just a t-shirt – but never again! A lightweight sweater is a more comfortable option that will keep you just warm enough. White is a safe option that is sure to go with anything.

Blanket scarf: We always have a scarf obsession around this time of year, and lucky for us, they’re a great accessory to take with you on the plane. If you need a makeshift pillow, this scarf can easily be rolled up for extra neck support, or, you can snuggle into it while you’re listening to music or watching an in-flight movie.

Trench coat: Loose trenches are everywhere this season. This style instantly makes the outfit look more polished, and can be used as  a blanket if you need to get some shut-eye.

Distressed jeggings: As tempting as it is to wear leggings or sweatpants on the plane, we usually want to avoid looking like we’re on our way to a yoga retreat. Skinny jeggings are a stylish alternative that aren’t as restricting as jeans, and we love that the distressed detail on this pair adds just the right amount of edge.

Runners: If you’re a frequent traveller, you understand the importance of comfortable footwear. Lengthy delays happen when you least expect them, so it’s best to be prepared. These flat Adidas runners are trendy and comfortable, and will be easy to slip on and off when you go through security.

Tote bag: Your carry-on is everything – especially if you’re flying overseas. You can’t go wrong with a large tote bag, and this burgundy shade adds a bit of warmth to the otherwise neutral outfit. Bigger than your regular purse, and less bulky than a backpack, this structured bag is perfect for holding your essentials without weighing you down. You’ll never find us on a plane without our trusty S’well water bottle, cute passport case, and a great read.

Why it works: As tedious as the travel process can be, there’s something exciting about picking out your outfit and experiencing the hustle and bustle for a day. Versatile layers, comfortable fabrics, and mix-and-match pieces add up to an airport-ready outfit that is chic without being fancy, and super comfortable.

All that’s left to do is book your tickets – enjoy your trip!
