Video: How to Apply False Eyelashes
beautyWhen a big event is coming up, we always look to false eyelashes to take our makeup to the next level – and what better night than New Year’s Eve to indulge in a little extra drama! But, if we’re being honest... we never really know how to put them on. This time, instead of just winging it and hoping for the best, we’ve called in an expert to show us (and you!) exactly how it’s done.
If you’re new to wearing false eyelashes and don’t know where to begin, it all starts with choosing the right pair. Those with deep-set eyes should opt for fluffy, dramatic lashes, hooded eyes suit shorter pairs, and downturned eyes look best with natural styles that are slightly longer at the outer corner. Don’t be alarmed at how long the bands of false lashes are when you first take them out of the box – they’re meant to be cut to your specific eye shape. To figure out how much you should cut off, simply hold the eyelash strip against your natural lashline, and remove anything past the outer corner of your eye. Another pro tip is to wait thirty seconds after applying glue to the lash band before applying. This will allow the glue to become tacky and make the application much easier. If you want extra hold for a night out, try applying dots of glue along your lash line as well as on your lashes. It might sound like a complicated process, but like anything, it just takes a bit of practice!
