How to keep it modern: When styling a dress, it’s usually a safe bet to let it be the focus of your look. When it comes to one with such a defined retro style, this is even more true. The peasant dress is full-on bohemian, but by practicing restraint with the jewellery, and adding a more structured two-toned bag and understated modern sandals, you’ll contrast the floaty dress - toning down the hippie vibes and amping up the breezy chic.

How to keep it modern: Printed pants are everywhere this season, but this wide-leg pair really plays homage to the extreme bell bottom shape of the ‘70s. Keeping it simple otherwise will keep your look refined, and let the pants shine without overwhelming. White-on-white on top is bright and clean, while the oval vest feels modern and new. Unfussy tan leather accessories add depth, without taking over.

How to keep it modern: You can still love the ‘70s vibe, even if wearing the more obvious clothing throwbacks just isn’t for you. With this decade, a little really does go a long way. Look to swingy fringe and hints of silver and turquoise to set the tone.
