Here’s the 2019 Way to Wear Florals

fashion

Every spring, we get the overwhelming urge to cover ourselves in floral prints, and when we ask you what you want to see here on Spark, this is always on the list. Yes, we’ve seen The Devil Wears Prada 1,000 times too, and we are cringing inwardly right now imagining Miranda Priestly turning her steely eyes our way. But that said, we’d still argue (politely, she’s terrifying) that florals for spring are perpetually relevant. Like anything else, floral print trends vary from year to year and decade to decade, so here’s a look at the freshest, most 2019 way to honour everyone’s undying love for the ultimate spring/summer print.

This year’s take on it is large, bold, clashing florals. Not only do we have two different floral patterns in this look, but both the button-up and the skirt feature their respective florals on top of other patterns – muted stripes for the top, and a subtle paisley texture for the skirt. This playful more-is-more approach seems to be an overall trend this season; you can also see it coming through in the biggest accessory trends for spring and summer.

So, while we are on board with floral print (and flowers) in pretty much any form, this spring is offering a fun chance to mix and match, layer, and be a little bold with your choices.

And as temps heat up, we’ll be living in these high-gloss lip looks all summer long.
