The Biggest Trends for Swimwear ‘17

fashion

There’s no shortage of swimsuit options out there, and it can be difficult to decide which trend you’re going to turn up to the beach in this year. Solid colour or print? One-piece or two-piece? And you need think about what accessories you’re going to wear with your pick – the struggle is real! To narrow it down, we’ve zoned in on a few of our favourite swimwear trends of 2017, with three suits help you make the most of the season’s hottest days.

Trend: Ruffles

There’s something about ruffle tops that feel so perfect for summer and make us want to live by the pool. We love how this year’s ruffle goes right across your arms for the off-the-shoulder look – a new twist on the trend that is more interesting and fashion-forward for 2017. Finish off the look with a romantic wide-brimmed hat that will protect you from the sun, and feel chic and laid-back at the same time.

Trend: Jungle Print

We definitely have jungle fever right now. We may not live in the most tropical climate, but this swimsuit is easily the next best thing! Its unique shape gives you the coverage of a one-piece, but the cut-away back bares a little skin for a fun and flirty rear view. This suit also has built-in cups for extra support. Throw on a fedora and some gold bangles to keep the tropical vibes going, and stand out at your next pool party.

Trend: Zippers and mesh

Fashion is all about trying new things, and we’ve been on the hunt for a bathing suit with unexpected details. This one-piece was love at first sight with a front zipper that feels sexy, but gives you control over how much skin you show. Mesh panelling is another trendy detail (see another suit with mesh detail in our Canada Day post) that adds to the subtle edginess of the suit. Since this look has a strong athletic bent, we’re reaching for comfy gel sandals to keep the look relaxed and cabin-friendly.
