During Spring 2017 Fashion Month, influencers and designers alike surprised everyone by dressing up slogan tees, pairing them with everything from trousers to formal skirts. Whether they’re making a statement, or just repping our favourite band, slogan tees tend to bring us back to our younger years – but they can certainly work for the mature woman. Here are three ways to rock the season’s coolest tees like the edgy grownup you are.

For the Working Woman

If you want to add some personality to your work wardrobe, a playful top is just what you need. Worn with a longline pencil skirt, a fun and feminine ‘Ciao’ tee is work-appropriate, but casual and comfortable for a lunch meeting. Our favourite styling trick? Try knotting the front of the shirt, instead of just tucking it in. Go ahead and throw on a pair of equally fun heels and a Kate Spade handbag to knock this look out of the park. 

For the Trendy Student

For a cool-girl-on-campus look, reach for a t-shirt that speaks to you, and speaks up. A playful slogan tee, bomber jacket, and boyfriend jeans is a quintessential student outfit that’s ultra-comfortable, but super on-trend. Finish the look with some Adidas sneakers and a mini Matt & Nat backpack if you have a full school day, or go for ankle boots and a clutch if you’re planning on grabbing cocktails with your girlfriends after a night class. Keep the look fresh by swapping in different tees.

For the Party Girl

There’s something incredibly bold and chic about wearing a pair of wide-leg dress pants with a band tee. How perfect would this look be for an after-hours party at the WAG?! The tee looks mature and sophisticated when worn under a black blazer – just make sure it’s tucked in to define your waist, and keep things pulled-together.
