We can’t talk about nail trends without mentioning this gorgeous oxblood shade. You can also add a matte topcoat if you want to tone down the vivid, wet appearance. Polish can take your outfit from mediocre to great, and this red will instantly make you appear more pulled together. For a full-on Parisian look, pair with a red lip, striped tee, and glossy winged liner. Whether you prefer a coral or a deep berry polish like this one, red is always a home run.

Whether you love her or not-so-much, you’ve got to give Kylie Jenner major style credit – especially on the nail front. Over the past year she’s tried practically every nail colour, and our personal favourite was a glittery gold mani that she wore to the VMAs. This decadent lacquer is a great option if you want to look ultra party-ready, à la Kylie. Metallic hues are HUGE right now, and we love how this polish has swirls of pink glitter for added interest. Try contrasting this champagne shade with your favourite little black dress for balance, and opt for gold jewellery to avoid mixing metals.

Neutral grey – as seen on Demi Lovato

Good news for those of you who prefer more subdued shades: grey is a colour we're going to be seeing a lot more of, thanks to celebs like Demi Lovato. It’s a universally flattering shade, and might just be the most underrated neutral. Grey polish is far more interesting than white or cream, and always looks sleek and subtle without feeling boring. It wears beautifully on just about any nail shape, from short and round to longer, almond-shaped nails. This specific colour is from OPI’s Germany collection, and was inspired by the artsy, urban-chic vibe in Berlin. Pair with delicate hoop earrings and a leather jacket, and you're practically Demi.
