Video: 3 Braids You Need to Try

Lately it seems like all of our favourite celebs have collectively decided to bring back long braids. Stars like Khloe Kardashian and Hailey Baldwin have been giving us major hair envy with their perfectly-braided tresses, and it feels like the perfect time to jump on board. Justin Broesky from St. Vital Unisex showed us three cute braided hairstyles to copy ASAP.

The fishtail braid: We know this style looks intimidating, but trust us – it’s easier than you think. A tip for mastering the fishtail braid is to work with small sections. “The smaller the sections you take, the more texture your braid will have,” explains Broesky. “After your braid is finished, gently pull apart each section for a messy, more casual look.” This braid works best on medium-length or long hair, without too many layers.

The half-crown braid: The half-crown braid is a stylish way to add height and texture to your hairline. We’ve been endlessly pinning this hairstyle, and can’t wait to wear it to a spring wedding. “Try using a little texture spray in your hair to add extra grip,” says Broesky. “This makes it very easy to loosen pieces along your hairline and get more volume in the front.”

The inside-out French braid: This is arguably the trendiest braid style of the moment. “Inside-out braids are a great way to mix up the regular French braid,” says Broesky. “They can be worn completely smooth for an ultra-chic look, or loose and texturized for a carefree style.” Try wearing inside-out braids to your morning gym sesh, then shake them out at the end of your workout for pretty beach waves.
